Video Project "Susy's Osprey Week 2014 Animas High School"
Project Description/ Reflection
The task of this project was to test our filming skills in creating a video documentary. In the beginning, our class watched two documentaries Blackfish and Exit Through the Giftshop. These videos both gave our class some ideas on how a documentary should look, and gave us insights on how to create the actual video. The task for our video was to use our technological skills and create a video on any subject of our choice. My partner and I chose to create a video on our osprey week, buy taking a GoPro and filming the highlights of the trip. Most of the film comes from random times throughout the week, times that my partner and I thought would go well into our video. First our Osprey Week group stayed local in Durango, but then we set out to Canyonlands National Park, where most of the video is filmed. We learned lots of filming techniques, and more tricks in video editing software. The trip was so much fun and full of wonderful times, and the video was a great turnout.

Teacher Creature Project
In this project, the class was asked to choose our favorite teacher and interview them, asking them various questions. Some of the questions included what their favorite animal is, where their favorite place is to be, and what their favorite thing to do is. After we found out these things, we were asked to put the teachers face onto an animal, and also put them in a chosen setting. The task also included to put an object that represents something in the picture. My chosen teacher is my geometry teacher, and her favorite animal is a koala, so I put her face on a koala bear. I put a ti-84 calculator in her hand, to represent her love of math. The hardest part of this project was making sure everything was saved right, or else your whole project would be deleted. This happened to me a few times, but later on, I made sure to save my project right and the deleting never happened to me again. My favorite part of this project was being able to be creative and free in the Photoshop world. I really felt like I could represent myself well. As a student at Animas High, I learned there is a lot about our teachers that we don't know. Overall, this was an fun-filled and challenging project for me, and I think it was a wonderful experience for all of the 9th grade students.
